Beat the Heat!

Selling a home this summer? Here's a few tips from Team Gatlin that will not only help your prospective buyers feel right at home, but will help you in the long run!

1) Keep the home's temperature comfortable. When prospective buyers walk into a home the first thing they will notice is how they "feel." Are they hot? Is it stuffy and almost 80 degrees in the middle of August inside the home? Or are they perhaps freezing? A frigid 60 degree temp will leave them just as offput. If the temperature of the home is either too warm or too chilly it leads to questions such as, "what's wrong with the central air? or "will I need to replace a unit if I buy this?" A comfortable temp will leave people feeling peaceful as they peruse the home and the last thing on their mind will be questioning the A/C or heating unit!

2) Let the natural light shine. Sunshine is usually in abundance during summertime. Use this to your advantage! Let those longer days and bright sunshine bring the natural light shining into your home. Artificial lighting from a multitude of sources tend to make a home feel a little closed in and often downright dreary. As a homeowner, take advantage of what nature has to offer! Open up those curtains and pull up those blinds! Let the sun shine in and let the natural highlighting help feature your home in all its glory!

3) Highlight those outdoor areas. Here's where beautiful summer weather really works to a sellers advantage. If your home happens to sport an outside deck, patio area, grill station, etc., let these be a focal point! With people spending so much time outdoors in the summer months really showcasing your outside area is key. Be smart in your patio furniture placement, make sure all greenery and flowers are well maintained, and set the tone for people to WANT to spend time in this area.

4) Set the stage for showings! Have your home filled with fresh, summery smells. When people walk in they like to be greeted with a fresh hint in the air. Leave a bowl of fresh summer fruit out to highlight the season or even leave a tray of freshly squeezed lemonade for potential buyers to sip on as they walk the property. Do things inside and outside that make people walk away thinking "Wow, this would be a great place to live in during the summer!" All our Team Gatlin agents are ready to walk you into selling your home this summer. Don't let the heat beat you, take control and make this season work to your advantage! Call Team Gatlin today and sit back and relax this summer....we'll take it from there!
